Austria's ÖVP-SPÖ-NEOS coalition is consolidating public finances through a 2027/28 double budget aimed at leaving the EU excessive deficit procedure by 2028. An FPÖ no-confidence motion failed in October, and SPÖ Vice-Chancellor Babler plans to step down in early 2027.
